If you are not signed in to Chisel Tide, the sign-in page opens first and the consent screen follows after you sign in. Complete the magic-link sign-in and the connection resumes where it left off.
MCP Server
Connect an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to Chisel Tide through its MCP (Model Context Protocol) server: nothing to install locally, and the assistant gets read-only access to your account. The connection is started from the AI assistant itself, and owners and admins review and disconnect assistants in Settings under Connected Apps.
Before you start
You need a Chisel Tide account that can sign in to the dashboard. Workspace admins and eligible team members can connect an assistant.
You need an account in a supported AI assistant and permission to add connectors in it. The connection flow is documented for Claude.ai and ChatGPT.
You need Chisel Tide's MCP server URL to paste into the assistant:
https://app.chiseltide.com/api/agent/v1/mcp.
Connect the assistant
The connection starts in your AI assistant, not in the Chisel Tide dashboard. You add Chisel Tide as a custom MCP connector, and Chisel Tide's sign-in page and a consent screen appear along the way.
In your AI assistant, open the connector settings. In Claude.ai, go to Settings > Connectors and choose Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, go to Settings > Connectors and choose Create.
Give the connector a name, for example Chisel Tide.
Enter Chisel Tide's MCP server URL:
https://app.chiseltide.com/api/agent/v1/mcp.Leave the client ID and secret fields blank. The connection registers itself.
Click Connect. The Chisel Tide sign-in page opens.
Sign in with the magic link sent to your work email, the same way you sign in to the dashboard. See Signing in if the email does not arrive.
Review the consent screen. It shows your organization name and your email address, and lists what the assistant can read: customers, properties, and service history; routes, visits, work orders, and invoices; and search across the Chisel Tide help center.
Choose Allow to approve the connection, or Deny to cancel it.
After you approve, you return to your AI assistant and it can start reading your Chisel Tide data. Chisel Tide asks for this approval the first time each person connects each assistant.
What the assistant can do
A connected assistant has read-only access. It can look up customers, properties, and service history; read routes, visits, work orders, and invoices; and search the help center. It cannot change anything.
The assistant acts as the team member who connected it, and every request it makes is logged under that person's name.
Review connected assistants
Owners and admins can see every assistant connected to the account. In Settings, under Workspace, open Connected Apps. Each connection shows the app name, the name and email of the member who connected it, the connection date, when it was last used (or Never used), and whether it has an active session.
Connections are started from the AI assistant itself. The Connected Apps page lists and manages existing connections; it does not start one.
Disconnect an assistant
Disconnecting removes the assistant's access right away. Reconnecting it later asks for approval again.
In Settings, under Workspace, open Connected Apps.
Click Disconnect next to the connection.
Confirm with Disconnect. The assistant loses access immediately.
Only owners and admins can view and disconnect connections.
Troubleshooting
The consent screen doesn't appear after I click Connect
The sign-in email didn't arrive or the link expired
Magic-link emails can land in spam. A sign-in link works for 15 minutes and can be used up to five times. If it has expired, return to the sign-in page, enter your email again, and request a new link. See Signing in for more detail.
