Service Visit Assists
Sometimes a visit needs a second set of hands. You can send an additional technician to help at a service visit without creating a duplicate visit. Add a helper for one day from the Routes page, or set up a recurring helper that repeats every week. The helper sees a simpler stop in the Technician App, and the lead technician stays responsible for the visit.
Add a helper for one day
Use this when a single visit needs extra help, such as a large property or a heavy workload day. The helper is added to that one visit only.
Open the Routes page and go to the Daily Routes tab.
Select the service visit that needs help.
Choose Add assist.
Pick an available technician from the searchable assignment dialog.
The same searchable assignment dialog supports both one-day helpers and recurring helpers.
Assign a recurring helper
Use this when a stop should get help every week, such as a large property on a recurring route. The arrangement repeats each week without any daily setup.
On the Routes page, open the Recurring Route Templates tab.
Open the recurring route stop that needs a helper.
Use the Assisting Techs dialog to choose the helping technician.
Recurring helpers are visible even when they do not have a route of their own: a technician who only assists on a weekday gets a card on the Recurring board.
Remove a one-day assist
Open the visit and choose Remove assist to remove the helper from that one day.
Who does what on the visit
The lead technician stays responsible for the visit. The helper gets a simplified version of the stop in the Technician App.
Role | On the visit |
|---|---|
Lead technician | Responsible for the checklist, chemistry readings, the service report, and customer notifications, including On My Way. The lead's stop identifies the helping technicians. |
Helper technician | Sees a simpler assist stop in the Technician App with an Assisting header and no chemistry, checklist, or client note. |
